We are giving our support to our local Community Groups through a variety of shared "projects".
We have been asked to help at the Sorrento Primary School, St Joseph's Primary School and the Blairgowrie Community Garden, supporting garden updates, creating wicking boxes, planters boxes and potting tables.
We heard the Sorrento Primary School bell and "tower" needs some attention. The bell had been taken down some time ago and forgotten. It's been restored and will soon be re-installed in the school grounds.
The Sorrento Primary School amphitheatre needed a complete overhaul - consider it done with new sleepers installed and the garden area cleared. More work will be done to replace ageing retaining walls at other parts of the garden.
"Insect Hotels" - all the craze at the time - simple wooden structures to add to the St Joseph's sustainability program. We have built more for the Sorrento Primary School, Sorrento Early Learning Centre, Rye Community House and private gardens.
We have salvaged "Minnow" class boats and are new additions to the play areas at the Sorrento Early Learning Centre, Seawinds Early Learning and Rye Community House. The kids' reactions were priceless.
The team made themselves available for several projects at our local Community Houses and Early Learning Centres - repairs to outdoor toys and equipment, installation of a picture rail, installation of BBQ's and playground equipment.
We went international in collecting old rope and books for the African Bush Camps Foundation, supporting their plan to build "safe" domestic animal shelters in the bush and provide much-needed books for the schools.
Bushfire Recovery Support
Making a real difference
Sometimes you meet people who are prepared to go way beyond the normal!! Kerith and Peter Buckingham are doing just this. They are making 1,200 km round trips delivering donated caravans and tools to the fire ravaged areas.
Just so easy to support these guys through hunting down extra tools to be added to the collection.
Adding their write up on what they are doing.
